Fyers Algo Trading with QuantPower

Connection guide. Verify current release/account availability before relying on this setup. Check Available connections.

Fyers algo trading with QuantPower runs your own strategy rules on your Fyers account through the Fyers API, the broker's official trading API. You activate your own API app, whitelist a static IP with Fyers and complete two-factor authentication every trading day, and your funds and securities stay with Fyers.

What you need
  1. 01A Fyers trading account, with F&O enabled if you trade options or futures.
  2. 02Your own Fyers API app, activated free in the Fyers API dashboard, with its App ID and secret.
  3. 03A static IP address whitelisted with Fyers for that app. Orders from any other address are rejected.
  4. 04Your Fyers login with two-factor authentication, completed once every trading day.
  5. 05A QuantPower plan with algo bots. The QuantPower Standard plan is free during the Beta (₹299/month after); Professional is ₹499/month and Ultimate ₹999/month, GST extra. See pricing.
Key point
Since 1 April 2026, Fyers accepts API orders only from an activated API app mapped to a whitelisted static IP, and at most 10 orders a second. Sessions no longer renew themselves: you complete two-factor authentication once every trading day.

How to connect Fyers

  1. Open the API dashboard. In Fyers Web, go to the API dashboard and open the default app, named Algo trading app.
  2. Whitelist your static IP and activate the app. Enter your static IP and the redirect URL shown in QuantPower's broker settings. For permissions, select Order Placement and Market Data. In Fyers' API docs, Order Placement also covers reading orders, positions, holdings and funds, and Market Data covers quotes. Then click Activate. Activation gives you a new App ID, ending in 200, and a secret.
  3. Add the app in QuantPower. Open broker settings, choose Fyers and enter your App ID and secret.
  4. Log in on Fyers' page with your client ID and the two-factor check Fyers asks for.
  5. Check the connection. Your funds, holdings and positions should appear in QuantPower.
  6. Test before you go live. Run a new strategy in paper trading first, then deploy it on your account with a small size.

Fyers API rules since April 2026

SEBI's framework for retail algo trading has applied to every broker since 1 April 2026, and it sets the terms for Fyers algo trading. Fyers' support pages explain the details.

RuleWhat it means on Fyers
Your own API appOrders are accepted only from an activated app with the new App ID; old app credentials are rejected
Whitelisted static IPOrders must come from the IP whitelisted for your app; traffic routed through a VPN, proxy or other address is rejected
Daily loginTwo-factor authentication once every trading day; sessions that renew through a refresh token are no longer supported
Order rateFyers allows at most 10 orders a second; faster algos must be registered with the exchange through the broker
Market ordersConverted to market price protection (MPP) orders, which fill only within a set range of the last price
Family accountsOne static IP per user; close family members can share one after a declaration and a KYC check

The static IP is the fixed public address of the computer or VPS that sends your orders. QuantPower runs on your own computer or VPS, so your API key stays with you and Fyers API orders leave from the static IP you register with Fyers. Keep that computer or VPS secure, and keep it on and logged in to Fyers during market hours while your strategies run.

How an algo order reaches the exchange: your strategy in QuantPower on your own computer or VPS, your static IP registered with your broker, your broker's checks, then the exchange (illustration)

QuantPower is trading software. It is not a stockbroker or a SEBI-registered investment adviser or research analyst, and it gives no tips, calls or buy and sell advice. The strategies it runs on your Fyers account are your own rules, fully visible to you, and Fyers checks every order for price, quantity, margin and order rate before it reaches the exchange. Ready-made strategy templates, such as straddles and iron flies, load into the strategy builder; you edit and run them as your own strategy.

Fyers API: costs and charges

The Fyers API is free. Fyers charges nothing for its trading APIs or for quotes, market data and historical data, which QuantPower uses for live prices. You pay brokerage and statutory charges.

ItemFyers (standard plan)
Order and account APIsFree
Live and historical market dataFree
Options₹20 per order
Futures₹20 or 0.03%, whichever is lower
Equity intraday₹20 or 0.03%, whichever is lower
Equity delivery₹20 or 0.3%, whichever is lower
Example
A strategy that sends 20 option orders a day for 22 trading days places 440 orders a month. At ₹20 an order, brokerage comes to ₹8,800 before GST and statutory charges, far more than any API fee.

Statutory charges are the same at every broker. Our brokerage calculator adds them to the brokerage for any trade.

Every trading day

  • Before 9:15 am: log in to Fyers from QuantPower and complete two-factor authentication. Strategies scheduled before you log in will not trade.
  • Before each entry: check free margin. Option buyers pay the full premium upfront, and sellers need SPAN and exposure margin.
  • On expiry day: short index options expiring that day need an extra 2% exposure margin.
  • After the close: the session ends, and the next trading day starts with a fresh login.

Things to know about Fyers

  • When orders fail. Fyers lists three usual causes: old app credentials, an app that has not been activated, and requests leaving from an IP other than the whitelisted one. Check all three together.
  • Stop losses in options. NSE does not accept SL-M orders in options. Build options strategies with limit and stop-loss limit orders, with a buffer between trigger and limit.
  • Multi-leg strategies. A short straddle sends two orders at entry and an iron condor four. Space the legs so your account never sends 10 or more orders in a second.
  • A changing IP stops orders. If your internet provider changes your address, Fyers rejects orders until you whitelist the new one. A fixed IP from your provider or a VPS avoids this.

Frequently asked questions

Does QuantPower see my Fyers password?

No. You type your login details and two-factor code on Fyers' own page. QuantPower receives and stores only an access token for the day's session.

Do I need a static IP for the Fyers API?

Yes. Fyers accepts orders only from an activated API app mapped to a whitelisted static IP.

Is the Fyers API free?

Yes. Fyers charges nothing for its order APIs or for live and historical market data. You pay brokerage, such as ₹20 per options order, and statutory charges.

Can my family share one static IP at Fyers?

Yes, for a spouse, dependent parents and dependent children. One member whitelists the IP, and the family sends Fyers a signed declaration with proof of relationship for a KYC check.

Why did Fyers change my market order?

Fyers converts market orders from the API into market price protection orders, which fill only within a set range of the last price. Use limit orders to control the price.

Do I have to log in to Fyers every day?

Yes. Fyers no longer supports sessions that renew through a refresh token, so you complete two-factor authentication once every trading day.
